Adult ADHD

Understanding and Supporting ADHD in Adulthood

Adult ADHD is real and it's often under-recognised. For many adults, a diagnosis brings clarity to years of feeling scattered, overwhelmed, or misunderstood.

Whether you've been recently diagnosed or are seeking assessment, Arami Women's Health provides non-judgmental, medically-informed support to help you thrive. Arami currently does not perform ADHD assessments in-house — we support you through the process and refer you for formal assessment and diagnosis.

What to Expect

Arami supports adults through the ADHD referral pathway in accordance with the guidelines relevant to your state in Australia, and provides ongoing care once a diagnosis is in place.

Your ADHD care journey may include:

  • An initial conversation to understand your symptoms and how they're affecting your daily life

  • Ruling out other causes, such as sleep disorders, thyroid issues, or anxiety, where relevant

  • Referral to a psychiatrist or other appropriate specialist for formal ADHD assessment and diagnosis

  • Ongoing medication management, if medication is appropriate and once a diagnosis is in place

  • Referrals to ADHD coaches, therapists, or psychologists for behaviour and executive functioning support

ADHD can be a challenge, but it can also be a strength. With the right diagnosis and support team, you can build systems that help you succeed in work, relationships, and daily life.
